Big Block Espresso Blend

Cherry, Nougat, Dark Chocolate

Big Block favours the bold! Designed to have punch and body, it cuts through dairy and alternative milk whilst still staying true to the Marvell Street ethos for clarity and quality. Big Block is a blend of carefully selected coffees, roasted a touch more for extra body and lower acidity. It's rich with notes of dark chocolate, nougat and a delicate cherry fruitiness.

Born from a demand for a blend with some serious oomph, Big Block balances grunt with sophistication, it's a milk lovers dream!

Firebird Espresso Blend

Milo, Chocolate, Fudge

Created with the intention to showcase all 3 coffee processing methods and create the ultimate espresso blend for coffee with milk. Washed, honey and natural are the 3 main processing methods used to get the coffee from cherry to seed and each offer unique flavours and characteristics.

Washed process coffees are picked when fully ripe, the cherry's skin is removed, and the mucilage is washed and fermented in baths of fresh water and slowly dried. Honey process requires the mucilage to remain on the seed throughout the drying stage to increase sweetness. This method is encouraged to famers that have limited access to fresh water. Natural process is the riskiest method to undertake and historically the lower grade cherries were processed this way, however, startup cost for farmers is extremely low making it attractive to some.

Roaster

Marvell St Coffee Roasters

Marvell St select and roast coffees that are balanced, naturally sweet and free of defects, believing in minimal intervention, both on the farm level, and when roasting the raw green product. This philosophy leads them to buy the best quality coffee from Central and South America, West Africa as well as locally from Byron Bay. On a community level, they support businesses that operate with a shared intent to benefit the local community and environment.

As a growing company they are conscious of their impact on the environment, and try to make as little impact as possible. They use a Loring Smart roaster designed to be extremely efficient and low emission. They hand deliver local orders in reuseable buckets saving about 250,000 coffee bags yearly from going into landfill. Their retail coffee bags are 100% recyclable and they make their shipping satchels from the materials their green beans are stored in.
