Coffee has always been part of María Belén Díaz's life. Raised in a coffee-growing family, she has spent more than 12 years producing specialty coffee while continually expanding her knowledge and refining her craft.

Before dedicating herself fully to production, María worked as a coffee quality analyst in Colombia's Cauca region. There, she developed a highly trained palate and deep expertise in cupping and quality evaluation, skills that now guide every stage of production on her farm.

María is one of the 96 women participating in the Huila Condor Project, an initiative that supports women producers in elevating quality and strengthening their presence within the specialty coffee industry. In 2024, she also became one of the first women in the region to earn a Coffee Processing Certification from The Forest Academy, recognising her commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

Together with her husband, Narciso Narváez, and their three sons, María manages Finca Resinas in the municipality of Acevedo, Huila. The family began their journey in the region as farm workers before, through years of hard work and determination, purchasing the farm they now proudly call their own.

Today, they cultivate a diverse range of exceptional varieties, including Papayo, Caturra, Castillo, Pink Bourbon and Gesha, driven by a shared ambition to produce world-class coffees and see their family's work recognised on the international specialty coffee stage.
