Coffee has been part of Eynar's life for as long as he can remember. Raised on his family's farm in Tolima, Colombia, he learned the craft from his parents and grandparents, inheriting not only practical farming knowledge but also a deep respect for the people and work behind every harvest.

For more than two decades, Eynar has dedicated himself to improving quality. In 2005, after attending a workshop with 26 fellow producers, he helped establish a local cooperative to strengthen coffee production, share knowledge and create better access to specialty markets.

The transition to specialty coffee has transformed both his farm and his approach. Higher quality has brought greater value, while encouraging continual investment in cultivation, harvesting and processing. Each season is an opportunity to refine his methods and produce coffees that express both the variety and the landscape with greater clarity.

This washed Gesha Rojo is grown at Finca La Siberia, at 1,780 metres above sea level in the mountains of Tolima. Careful cultivation and processing reveal the variety's elegant character, producing a cup that is soft, sweet and beautifully refined.

Therefore Coffee Roasters

We want to live in a world where coffee producers, their families and communities can thrive.

Unfortunately, the history of coffee production is intertwined with that of colonialism and slavery. Even today it is not uncommon for producers and workers to be faced with poverty, food scarcity, and child labour. Modern slavery still exists within the coffee producing industry.

Coffee is traditionally sold at a price that has nothing to do with farmer's living expenses (Read: C Price) and is often below the cost of production. We don't like the idea of Wall Street influencing how much our producers get paid on a given day. Our sourcing partners always pay premium prices based on cost of production and quality; not the market price.
