Description
This coffee comes from the Telila washing station in Jimma, Ethiopia, with the fruit grown in the Gure Kesso kebele by smallholder farmers. It’s produced by Mike Mamo, the owner and manager of the Telila washing station.
This is Mike’s first year buying cherries from the Gure Kesso kebele, and continues to show a meticulous attention to detail, especially in the drying process, resulting in a cup that’s crisp, clean, and elegant.
Mike’s commitment to separating lots according to kebele on arrival at the washing station is somewhat rare in Ethiopian coffee production, allowing greater insight into what each micro-region has to offer.
The coffee from Gure Kesso offers a sweet, juicy flavour profile, tasting of fresh peach, bergamot, and dried cranberry. The cup is aromatic and layered, with hints of Earl Grey tea and a velvety texture.
